A brief synopsis of the project: 

BlossomTO was developed by Artifacts Studio for an installation in downtown Toronto hosted by BottleCap Media in May 2021. The goal of the installation was to honor the international cherry blossoms season and to promote the antiracism campaign “Stop Asian Hate”.

This installation was in the form of an interactive wall projection, set next to the sidewalk on Ossington Street in Toronto. Using motion tracking technology the people passing by the screen would spawn blossoms on the screen. The blossoms rapidly spawned in the form of the audition’s silhouettes and they could create winds that blew the blossoms in the desired direction with the desired force.
